Description

Peppered Beef is a flavorful Nigerian-style delicacy made by cooking tender beef in rich spices, then frying it to achieve a deliciously crisp exterior. The fried beef is tossed in a vibrant pepper sauce made from a blend of scotch bonnet peppers, cayenne peppers, and red bell peppers, giving it a bold, spicy, and aromatic taste. Finished with spring onions and curry leaves, this dish delivers a perfect balance of heat, seasoning, and savoriness. Peppered Beef is often enjoyed at parties, gatherings, or as a tasty side dish, and pairs beautifully with rice, fried plantain, yam, or eaten on its own as a spicy treat.

Peppered Beef doesn’t have a specific documented year of creation, but it originated from Nigerian party-style peppered meats, which became widely popular in the 1970s–1980s with the rise of modern Nigerian catering and party foods like peppered snail, peppered chicken, and pepper soup.
