Ingredients It Favours:

  • Fresh okra (chopped or grated) Palm oil Onion Fresh tomatoes (optional) Pepper (fresh or powdered) Seasoning cubes / spices Salt Protein of choice: beef
  • goat meat
  • chicken
  • fish
  • crabs
  • shrimps Stockfish (optional) Ugu/spinach/kontomire (optional)

Steps:

  1. Wash and chop/grate the okra
  2. Season and boil your meat/fish until soft
  3. Keep the stock
  4. Heat palm oil in a pot, add onions and pepper
  5. Fry briefly
  6. Pour in your meat stock and proteins, allow to boil
  7. Add the chopped okra and stir
  8. Allow it to simmer
  9. Add leafy vegetables (optional)
  10. Adjust seasoning and salt
  11. Cook for ~5–7 minutes until it draws well
